In modern timber frame houses, the frame itself is often left exposed so homeowners can enjoy the beauty of the massive timbers. One of the best aspects of a post and beam structure is the design flexibility that it offers. They allow for large open-span spaces, exposure of beautifully vaulted ceilings, and also come in a range of styles from more traditional to contemporary finishes and joinery. Hybrids Structures
A hybrid timber frame combines the methods of traditional timber framing with modern conventional stick framing and other systems.
